As a WordPress enthusiast you often look for other people and websites to get the latest information on WordPress.  The more I looked the more I saw the “wp” acronym which is gaining more popularity among presser’s.  So of-course being somewhat a former domainer I figured I would compile a nice list of domains “wp” related and share.

WP125 Ad Management Plugin

With over 13,000 thousand downloads this plugin is hardly a secret but better than a secret is the fact that it works right out of the box. Its great for basic ad management for those ubiquitous 125/125 boxes.

If your using the stars theme and don’t like updating those extra files on your server and want to do everything from your WordPress dashboard then this is the plugin for you.

Forums For Your Website

I wanted to add a forum to this site so I decided to browse what was available and suitable for my needs. First I’m looking for something that’s free. Second it has to have longevity, to many free forums stop developing and the project dies. (Working extremely long hours to have others download your forum then swamp you with questions is draining)Third it has to be feature rich and have extensive repository of plugins or add-ons. Fourth it has to have support and support and more support. I love a community full of developers, followers, fans, etc…

Add Twitter to Bookmarks.php

Did you notice at the bottom of your post you have all those goodie bookmarks? Did you also notice that something was missing? That’s right twitter seemed to be missing from the list of bookmarks. Granted Twitter isn’t a bookmark but hey it’s nice to have.

Let’s add it!

Open up your bookmarks.php and right after this code:

Place this code:

How to Ad 125/125 Advertising Blocks

Some people requested that they want the ability to add 125×125 ads to their sidebar like the ones that I have so here it is.

STEP ONE

Add the below CSS to the bottom of your screen.css

STEP TWO

Download and extract, then add these two files to your ads folder (example: themes/thsestars/ads/)

Alternatively you can just copy the files you have in your stars theme and then rename them ads-125×125right.php and ads-125×125right.php

STEP THREE

Add this code in your sidebar.php where you want the two 125×125 ads to appear.

Adding a Page to the Main Menu

In the header.php add:

Cleaning The Mess

Sorry that everyone has to endure this hodgepodge of a site, I’m finishing one project for a client then moving on to another. I’m cleaning the site as we speak. new logo, color scheme, etc… I’ll be adding more information on this theme and others too.

Depending on what kind of website you have you may have thought about adding a weather forecast somewhere as an added feature for your visitors. Its a nice compliment and adds a nice touch. Test Drive Your Theme Plugin

Ever wanted to see how other themes look on your site but didn’t want your visitors to notice or see anything different while you play around or develop another theme. Well I can say that this plugin does the trick!

Why use this plugin? Well for people like me who have a theme disorder and can never commit to any one for specific long period of time I can see instantly what other themes look like but also more importantly I can work on an alternate them while never disturbing my visitors.

See it in action here and here using this site as an example using the Classic and Default themes.  (Tested in WP2.7)
